Dr. Will Anderson is a highly regarded General Surgeon working at Whangarei Hospital and in private practice.  He specialises in breast, skin, hernia and gallbladder surgery and also performs gastroscopies. 

 

Will is recognised amongst patients and colleagues not only for his expertise, but also for his warm, approachable manner.  He puts patients at the centre of his practice and is dedicated to their wellbeing and care.  He takes time to understand their health concerns and medical background and works with them as they decide on the best approach to finding relief.  He is always willing to answer questions and explain the latest evidence-based treatment options.  He hopes that all patients leave their consultations feeling comforted and well informed.

 

Before becoming one of the Consultant Surgeons at Whangarei Hospital, Will completed a two-year dedicated Breast Surgery Fellowship with Breast Surgeons of Australia & New Zealand.  This training covered all aspects of benign and malignant breast disease, with a focus on implant-based breast reconstruction and therapeutic mammoplasty. He prides himself on giving patients the very best chance of breast conserving surgery and where this is not possible, offering high quality breast reconstruction.

 

Will is the Chair of the Northern Skin Cancer Governance Committee and has a keen interest in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer surgery.  He provides surgical care for early and advanced skin cancer.
